Commonwealth Catalog Goes Live

Submitted by Alexandra on April 7, 2015

After much anticipation, the Commonwealth Catalog went live for patron use on April 1st.  The date was a happy surprise as participating libraries experienced a year-long wait including a few false starts and a quite a bit of system setup and troubleshooting.  April Fools aside, this system is much improved and will allow patrons to request items from a growing group of Massachusetts library networks while providing a more helpful staff interface to process the requests.  Currently, Fenway Libraries Online patrons can borrow from the Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing (CLAMS), Minuteman Library Network (MLN), and Bridgewater State University library networks, and several more networks are due to go live in the coming months.  If you are a FLO patron, try placing your own request by going to flo.org/comcat.htm. Happy requesting!
